Terms of Service

Elco is an AI English practice companion: text conversation (Elco Chat), turn-based voice practice (Elco Call and listening missions), feedback, reviews, focused drills, vocabulary help and progress tracking. Elco is a practice tool. It is not a school, a tutor service with human teachers, or an official test or certification.

• You need an account to use Elco. Give accurate information and keep your sign-in details secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
• Elco is intended for people aged 13 and over. If you are under the age of adulthood where you live, use Elco with a parent’s or guardian’s permission.
• Tell us at elco@ielsco.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.

Use Elco for learning. Do not:

• submit content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else’s rights;
• share other people’s personal information without their permission, or sensitive information about yourself that you don’t want processed;
• try to get around usage limits, access other users’ data, probe or disrupt the service, or use automated means to use Elco at scale;
• try to make the AI produce harmful content, or use Elco to build a competing service.

Elco’s replies, feedback, reviews, translations and explanations are generated by AI. They can be inaccurate or incomplete. Scores and comparisons are practice estimates based on your own sessions; they are not official results and do not predict test scores. Roleplay characters are simulations: details about companies, institutions or people in a scenario are not real facts about them.

Elco gives educational practice only. Do not rely on it for professional, legal, medical, immigration or financial advice.

You keep ownership of what you write and say in Elco. You give us permission to store, process and transmit it (including to our AI and hosting providers) only as needed to provide Elco to you, keep it secure and improve it as described in the Privacy Policy. You can delete your content and your account as described there. Make sure you have the right to share anything you submit.

Elco currently offers a Free plan with daily usage limits, which are shown in the app and may change. Paid plans (Starter and Pro) are planned and shown on the Pricing page, but it is not on sale yet: no checkout, subscription, recurring billing or payment exists in the current version, and we do not charge you. If paid plans become available, their price, billing and cancellation terms will be shown before you buy and will apply in addition to these terms.

Elco is actively developed. Features, limits and personalities may change, and some (such as additional personalities) are shown as not available yet. We try to keep Elco running reliably but do not promise it will always be available or error-free, and we may pause features for maintenance or safety.

Elco relies on third-party services such as OpenAI (AI), Google (sign-in), Supabase, Railway and Vercel, and links to IELSco. Their availability and terms are outside our control.

The Elco software, design, name and content we provide, including the Elco character artwork used with IELSco’s permission, belong to us or our licensors. You may use them only as part of using Elco.

You can stop using Elco and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other users or the service at risk; where reasonable we will tell you why.

Elco is provided “as is” for practice. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on AI output. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or rights you have as a consumer.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. If you have a concern, please contact us first at elco@ielsco.com so we can try to resolve it informally.

We may update these terms and will change the “Last updated” date. If changes are significant we will also tell you in Elco. Continuing to use Elco after an update means you accept the updated terms.
